Good ideas take shape in the Hackathon Ekos

The prototyping phase mobilized the participants of the Hackathon Ekos in the last two days of the event. On Friday and Saturday the teams started to work together to get their ideas off the drawing board with the objective of coming up with solutions to connect the Amazon rainforest to nature and people’s daily lives.

The prototyping marathon started on Friday, 18 and the teams started presenting, in the beginning of the morning, their initial projects based on all the information they got in the first days about innovation in Natura, the Ekos brand and the routine of those who live in the rainforest.

Additionally, they also counted on the visit of some special guests throughout the process. Natura consumers and consultants, as well as representatives of the local community joined them to follow the prototyping evolution and share their opinions regarding the concepts that were being developed by each team. Their inputs were really important for our participants, who were able to adjust the direction they were heading to and create more accurate prototypes.

This first day of the Hackathon Ekos prototyping phase also counted on the presence of the Vice-President of Natura Innovation, Gerson Valença, who talked to the teams and made a few suggestions for improving their ideas.

On Saturday, our participants kept on working at full steam. The projects started to get shape by using a variety of resources. Programming and digital interface tools, as well as the Laser cutting machine were used. Furthermore, the prototyping space was equipped with two 3DCloner printers that were operated by our partners from E.TECH, which helped a lot in the process of development.

Once the prototypes were completed, our participants received the visit of our host, Murilo Gun, along with other important guests, who gave tips on how to prepare their projects for the pitching that is going to take place in the last day, when the judges are going to decide who are the winners of our innovation marathon.
